Any body have any experience with Austrian winter pe Thoughts pleaseas. Have the seed here for about 40 acres but getting conflicting advice on planting. Originally planed on using 12 row planter that has additional units between each row so will drilling hard land in 15 in rows. Was thinking about 60 lb acre. What about light disking broadcasting 60 lb and rolling in with twin row cultipacker.?

Thanks again Charlie. Got to decide how I going to plan them sometime between now and in the morning.

I planted them in a food plot with a mix of clovers and wheat, but that's about it. One of my books list 50#/acre. I would assume that to be broadcast. Your 40#/acre for drilled sounds about right. They have two-tone purple blossoms, Quite pretty.

They got a lot of ink around S Ontario about 15-20 years ago.A guy was selling seed and a local ag college teacher took an interest. The idea was that you could no till after wheat and grow most of the nitrogen for next years corn.I bought 1 bag of seed but that year was so wet I couldn"t plant it.The seed had been harvested a bit wet because the peas crack easily in the combine and it all moulded. It was another great idea that didn"t work out.

Well we will see ended up hardland drilling about half of them and broadcasting the other half. Will see what kind of stand and how they do.
