Has anyone ever experienced a carb that will not allow fuel to enter thru the inlet valve? I have a Stromberg that I can blow thru the line with the bowl off; but; when I put it back together; I cannot blow thru it. the vent to the bowl is clear. any ideas?????????

Sounds like the needle valve is stuck shut.
Possibly the bowl lifting the float when you put it on?

I have checked all that. I can see when I put it back together that the float and needle is down. I also have a 9psi pump in line. I have never encountered something like this

I had the same problem with a JD LA. Cleaned it up to carry to local show. It died going to the water hose. I pulled the carb. gas run from the gas line, you could shake it (carb) and everything seem to work. Long story short, the needle valve, like to have never found it. The little spring (piece of wire) that pulls it down was gone.

As a test, if you leave the needle out and reassemble can you
blow through it? That would prove it's not the needle valve.
You already said the vent was clear, so it should let air in/out.
