Hello my father owns a massey 50b back hoe we live in ireland so Id say its british built can anyone help me in identifing what year it was built its serial number is 212a,174201 thanks a lot

Click onto 'massey' in the bar above, get on that forum. Plenty of UK model people on there. I believe the 212 is the engine cubic inch, but 174k has me stumped for that model. There should be another serial number plate near the dash.... see you there.

Ask on the Massey forum. It's an early model with the 212 engine. 50B's were built in the UK and went through many models. They were one of the most popular MF industrial machines ever made. I'd say early 70's but it would just be a guess. You need to get a serial number for the machine rather than the engine and hopefully one of the MF experts from the UK can help with the year. There's couple of them that frequent the MF forum on here.
