18.4x34 bias tires- Firestone SAT/SAT 2

I need to put new rear tires on my 1850 Oliver loader tractor which gets used year around for feeding cattle in spring thaw mud, pushing snow,moving bales and other light to medium farm work. I have a preference for Firestones. I can get Petlas tires for $608 but he SAT 2"s are $693 and SAT"s are $799. The Petlas tires are too close to a firestone in price to the SAT2"s but I don"t know if I would be happy with them or if I should I just spend more for the SAT"s? I do plan keeping the tractor for awhile.
 
I would go with the firestone SAT 2 because you won't be happy with some off brand and the sat 2 will do just as well as the sat will your not using as main farm tractor use the money saved towards next pair if tires
 
The SAT II is a cheaper tire... as in you get less tire. For that price difference I'd go with the SAT if you can still get it...

I've got SAT II's on several tractors and haven't looked back. Never trust any of these import junk brands for anything you plan to use or keep a long time.
 
Dan I would go with the Firestone SAT on a loader tractor. You are going to be spinning using that 2wd tractor. The Firestone SAT II is a lot lighter tire. I bought one set and and I do not like the thinner bars and fewer bars around the tire. I will not be buying any more SAT IIs.

than to buy the lower price tire first
hate it despise it
and then finally buy the good tire
 
To hijack the thread, how do the Carlisle tires compare to the Firestones? Has anyone actually tried them or just what you have heard/read? I have seen them at $600 each.
 
Dan I sold Firestone rears for over 20 years, spend the extra money and go with the SAT's. They are a lot heaver casing and a lot thicker bar, I believe the bar was taller than the SAT 2. They would work a lot better on your loader than the SAT 2.
