Pipe sealent for GAS

I'm having trouble getting the sediment to seal to the gas tank of an AC CA. What is approved and sealing threads for gasoline. Tried gasket cement, not good, how about Teflon tape? What do you use.

When I was plumbing up a new gas barrel one time, the fuel deliver guy told me to use Permatex with gasoline.

Teflon tape, in fact I think almost all pipe dopes are rated for oil, air, gas, water....

I use blue stuff in a tube called Leak Lock. It is specifically for LP I think but I use it on sedimant bowl threads. I like to let it dry overnight.

A little piece of teflon tape can get into the needle valves or main jets.It can jam hydraulic valves.Put a piece in some gas and see what happens.Permatex has worked for me since the mid 50s.

The problem with teflon tape is sloppy wrapping. If you don't wrap the teflon tape all the way to the end, there is no way it can get into anything.

Leave the first thread or two "dry" when you start wrapping, and you will have ZERO problems with teflon tape.

Teflon tape is not good for unleaded gasoline. I use Seal All for gasoline because its not affected by gas or oil. Good for just about everything including reinstalling trim on a car.

No Teflon tape. I've had to fix breakdowns where it just melted. Use the goo in the plastic bottle with the dipper, kind of peanut butter colored. Don't remember the name. Get it at the hardware store. On the back it says the applications where it can be used and it's for everything. The current stuff has Teflon in it, but that's different than the tape.
