Glad you had time for a "mini" vacation with the family. Thanks for letting us tag along through your pictures.

I assume the trees that had been cut from the trail steps were blown down by Sandy.

Are you planting the usual sized gardens this year, or are you cutting back ?

Real nice park!! Glad you have several near you. My first wife and I went to a lot of state parks with the kids when they where little. Money was hard to find. So a picnic lunch and lemonade on the park's picnic tables was something we could afford to do. The kids still talk about doing that. In later years we did get ahead enough that we did the Disney deal in Florida but the kids remember little of that but do remember the local state park visits. That goes to show you that cost is not a good indicator of enjoyment/memories.

I remember in my other life fishing for trout in the Back River running through the park. Certainly a beautiful part of the state.

It is one of my favorite things to enjoy stuff that is available for recreation at little or no cost,we also have a great county library that offers so many great activitys,4H was great too when my daughter was growing up, You dont need a wheelbarrow of money to have a good time with your family.,because while you are trying to save to take them someplace expensive,they already grew up and you missed the chance to be with them in many cases.

Beautiful photos. Great one with your wife and daughter at the top of the staircase...that is a neat perspective that I would not have thought of shooting.

Well if your family is near there in the summer time, it would be neat to see some contrast photos of the same area.

We are having our meal tonight since our son has to work today (seems like a grocery store would close by noon on Easter Sunday... but nope).

We will also do another meal in a couple weeks as our daughter and her family could not be here today.
