WOW, my daughter Corey would go nuts on the 2nd. and fifth picture of the houses with the round turrets on the front. There is one in Avon, Indiana which will probably be torn down due to commercial growth. She wants that but would be prohibitive to move.

Those are the sort of old colonial houses I expected to see more of in America. boy did I get a shock. They are quite hard to find in good condition, and seem to be more on the East side of your country, I suppose it was settled first and thus it became more wealthy. I love these pics, Larry....Keep them coming. and if I can get my head lifted for a while I will go and get some more photos of houses from around here, so you all can compare and spot the differences!

Great pics Larry!
The brick fence reminds me of Lebron James' house he built when he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, I'll get a pic of that next time I go by it and there's a neat old barn about a mile away from there. Thanks to you Larry I now look at things differently, I drive by that old barn but barely notice it....bet i'd notice when it's gone...

Love the architectural detail on those stately homes. They just don't build them like that anymore.

Thanks for posting

Gorgeous houses. I really like the white with green trim. It has such ornate woodwork on the porch.

A ride up "Bear valley", North of Wisconsin
Highway 60, just East of Muscoda, will take you
past a number of Farmhouses like this. Much of
this part of Wisconsin, in the Wisconsin River
valley, was well settled by the 1850s and the
rich soil made prosperous farms. They needed xtra
bedrooms for hired men, and girls! And huge barns
for the many teams of horses.

Looks like the rolling country between, Bernardsville and Washinton. Right?

New Jersey, great place to live...tough place to work. Everything is a battle...just the nature of the beast.

Photo #6 - Green house with red shutters would have cost less than $1000. to build back in 1908.

Try to duplicate that house TODAY and see what it costs. I'd say nothing less than $60,000. and probably a whole lot more.
