Amish Mafia , Jail sentences in Ohio.

This came up on my MSN web page to day. A 67 year old elder was sentenced to 15 years in prison for encouraging members of his comunity, to Kidnap and cut the hair and bierds off of members of a neighboring comunity of Amish.(considered a federal hate crime) He and 15 of his sect from Bergholz Ohio got prison time.

justice system like rest of government,completly out of control.sell drugs to school kids or kill 2-3 people maybe get five years.
 
Now that's going to create an interesting situation in prison, if he actually goes to prison. That being said, While I firmly believe that everyone who commits a crime should be punished in some way, If that is the only crime he has ever been convicted of, fifteen years in prison seems a bit extreme when compared to the sentences that I see handed out for drug peddlers and murderers. Just last week a local man charged with robbery and murder was allowed to plea bargan to a lesser charge of common law robbery and voluntary manslaughter, to which he was sentenced to NOT MORE than eight years and nine months in prison with credit for the twenty months he has spent in jail waiting trial.
 
THIS deal with THEM AMISH is BAD CHIT they were doing los more than cutting hair!!!!! sleeping with other's women, under age girls, beating people almost to the point of death AND maybe to death not sure bout that, AND maybe drugs!! Amish that I know say they don't call these dogs Amish. They are some real bad boys!! FBI has been after them for a few years too. Noting to joke about.
 
PS. Thats why they Charge them with a HATE CRIME they want them boys put away for a long while, Not the 1st time these boys have been in cort.
 
If they put him in jail they will have to make his own area without electric and a outside thrown .
 
There are good Amish and bad. There are good Baptist and bad. There are good Jews and bad. There are good and bad in every crowd.

Always so much made of what color or religion or what nationality people are when they do bad. Seldom do you hear about what group they come from when they do good.

Just sayin....
 
Rusted, that puts things in a different light. And I guess you are in a position to know. Yes, if they are that bad, they deserve a stiff sentence. (and that's likely what they will get in prison) Sounds like a bunch of hoodlums masquerading as Amish.
 
At least they will have no bother finding a barber in what ever prison they end up in!
Let the punishment suit the crime!

15 years for giving a guy a shave and a haircut?

Yeah, that seems about right- 3 times as long as a drunk driver gets for killing someone on the highway, but about the same as an 18 year old gets for having consensual $ex with his girlfriend a week before her 16th birthday.

Never has it been more true that "you can't make this stuff up." The inmates are watching the asylum. . .
