Want More Roll- O - Matic Information

I am still wondering what models, year etc, That Roll-O-Matic was optional and what,if any, was standard. Thanks for replies on my earlier question , but was not all I wanted.

Go to the JD web site and search the parts listings. You can input a part number the the site will list all machines using that part number.
Don't get too annoyed. You are getting info for free that somebody had to take the time to find and provide to you.

The only way to find the info you are looking for would be from dealer price lists. ROMs were available in the last half of 47. I don't know that they were ever standard equipment on two cylinders.

B&D, that search only searches within the digitized catalogs. It will not reference the old PDFs.

There was rollomatic fronts used after the PDF parts book era.
If buddy wants to find the tractors. The PDF files will run a search for each tractor. Not too difficult to input about 8 tractors.

Sorry but there's a lot more than 8 models of tractors in PDF that could have rolled off the assembly line with a ROM frt axle.

ROM frt axle wasn't standard on any models that I'm aware of. It was an option similar to power steering & LPTO

The M/40/420/430/1010, B/50/520/530, A/60/620/630,
G/70/720/730, 2010, 3010/3020/2510/2520, 4010/4020. Can"t
recall if row crop was a 30 series option or not?

I don't believe ROM was offered out of Dubuque until the 1010 tractors. From a staggered introduction in mid-1947 all row-crop tractors from Waterloo had it as an option with the 4020 being the largest size in that series. I think the 4320 was offered in a narrow front but believe it was only a conventional front and not ROM. Later on the 4030 and 4230 could have ROM. I have been told you could special order ROM on the 4040 or 4240 tractors clear up to about 1979 or so. I have a 1980 dealer book and will look there to see if there is a listing. Mike

I believe 30 series had 'rowcrop'.I know of one 4230/soundgard with a single front. It is used in onions and sugar beets.

There may be, but they were retrofitted from a later tractor. They weren't available until later. I should have said they were introduced with the 2010 row crop. The 1010 row crop came later. Mike

My '48 B has a rollomatic front, I think it was an option on them at that time. It put both fronts on the ground when plowing and stopped a lot of rock locked thumbs, My 2520 has a rollomatic, and I think the last made were in the 30 series, and not many of them. I've only seen a few. I think part of the problem with them is the larger tractor and the amount of twist they can exert on the frame. The only tractors I have ever really noticed with a problem have been 4010 and 4020's with broken frame rails.

The question from your first post "Were there some years that Roll-O-Matic was standard on 2 cyl. J.D. tractors?"

Your question was answered in your first post- "No, it was an option."
