driving up interstate 55 from the farm about an hour ago near braidwood illinois exit. state tropper pulled over on right shoulder with lights on. so i move to the left lane and slow down to go around him. in front of the squad car is an elderly lady on a three wheeled bicycle peddaling in circles on the shoulder of the road. he was out of the squad car trying to get her to stop. no idea how far she was peddaling down the highway, nearest on ramp was about 5 miles back. i am glad i'm not a policeman.

Granny on wheels can be dangerous. Had one down here last year run a stop sign. Put two tucks in the ditch.Never slowed down.

About fifteen or so years ago, a backhoe operator on a Case 580 backhoe entered I-75 in north Georgia and headed south down the interstate in the traffic lane, not on the sholder. He traveled about fifteen miles or so in the highway before a State Trooper pulled him over. He was high on drugs or something. It is a miracle that no one ran into him, as busy and fast as the trafic on I-75.

A few years ago I was southbound on I-71 in Columbus, OH.
Passed an old guy motoring southbound in an electric wheelchair!

Elderly wife calls her elderly husband to warn him of a wrong way driver on interstate. He responds 'they all are!' Sorry, could not resist!

Kinda think you need to keep that one in the memory bank for the next cIllinois YT meeting!

PS: Got to see some of the PeoRia TT parade today coming home from work. BNSF coal train cut them off on Farmington Road - Yep, I got to go west when they were going east.

I was a deputy sheriff for a year, about 35 years ago. Was tooling down the street in town, old lady pulled up to a stop sign, stopped, and without looking either way, pulled right out in front of me. I had to hit the brakes to keep from T-boning her.

Turned on the lights, she stopped, and I went to talk to her. No matter what I said to her, she just replied "I stopped for the stop sign." I took note of her name and license number, and sent a report to Dept. of Licensing. Hopefully, she didn't get renewed.

LOL, he might not have been under the influence, maybe just needed to drive home as his car wasn't running.

When my 1st son was just a tot, he is 17 now, we lived accross the street from a family that was in concrete biz.
The teenaged son was on a job site in Queens NY somewhere and apparently his dad left him at work.
Kid drove a HUGE loader home on public roads all the way to 11569. Google map that, its like 20 miles of suburban streets. No one stopped him, no one called the cops EXCEPT me! Cops talked to him and did nothing?
