Bias tires on duals, Radials on inside?

Wanting to put a set of duals on my IH 1486. I have radials on it and have as set of bias tires on rims for outside duals that came off a different tractor. Has anyone ever run bias and radial together and if so how do you adjust air pressure to make them work together? I need a little more traction to keep from spinning as much.

I do on my 2-135 White. 18.4 38s. I couldn't tell you just what the pressure in in the duals, just not to terrible high.

Did that on 3 field tractors over the years. No problem. Run outside psi about 2/3 of inside dual, same as on identical tires.
When you get stuck, you"ll notice the radial is cleaning better than the bias.

JD 4630. 18.4-38. radial inside, bias outside. good tread on inside, bias are probably about 5% tread or less. you wouldn"t think it would pull that much better than the singles but it does. much better in soft ground.

don"t recall offhand what pressures but i"m thinkin around 20 inside 10-12 outside?

if you make a sharp turn on hard ground or pavement, i"d think you"re fine as long as the outside dual is able to slip easily.

That's exactly the way to do it. Maze and JMS got it right on the pressures.

Good luck, use it in good health.

If it's traction you need I think I'd stay on singles.... Flotation is another thing. If that's the case then I'd lower the pressure in the duals to ~5 psi or whatever it takes to keep them on the wheel.
The thing with traction... even the squatted bias that is a bit taller than the radial will keep the radial from biting. Then you end up with less pull than the single radials alone.

It is on trucks on pavement i don't think it would make any difference on tractor tires on dirt.
