Is there a good way to neutralize herbicide/glyphosate in pasture sprayer so something else can be sprayed safely other than just washing out/flushing with water?? Thanks,Jim

When I worked for local fertilizer co we used straight
ammonia you can get at dollar stores. Sprayer was 800
gallons if I remember we used a gallon per tank always
worked for us, run thru system never had any problems.

The other have it pegged. Just regular old ammonia will neutralize the chemicals well. I was told it is to do with the fact that most chemicals are an oil based product. So the ammonia breaks the oil base down. I am not a chemist but this is what I have always been told.

I have used ammonia to clean out my sprayers for years. Even my small hand sprayers for the garden. I never have had any issues.

If you are cleaning you sprayer out for the season I have found that RV antifreeze works great to protect everything from freezing. It seems to also keep the seals and valves from drying out as well. On my 500 gallon sprayer I use about ten gallon. I spray it through the boom so the drip less nozzles are protected also.

When I ran a row machine 7 years ago, we would clean out with house hold bleach. You have to watch it though, if you have ammonium sulfate in it. Causes quite a reaction.
