8 n no spark

Never hurts to give us more info so we can better help you help your self. 6 or 12 volts front or side mount distributor would be a big to to us helping you but since you say coil wire I'll guess it is a 1950-1952 8N with a side mount distributor and that is as simple as cleaning and or replacing the points since they have corroded from sitting for months. Also could be the ignition switch but not as likely or you had a hungry mouse eat a wire

Your problem will be one of those I said and all the N series those are the things to check but does help to always give as much info as you can with in reason or course

my first instinct is to check points on any engine that has sat for a time. when points sit in the closed position they form a film on them and prevent firing. clean the points and check gap . then turn on key before installing cap and with points in closed position , use a small screw driver to open them and you should have spark at them, also will hear it snap.

If they came into the shop or I in the field I would use a jumper wire
from the battery to the battery side of the coil and seef it would start.

This will tell you if you have a issue of Voltage supply from the switch.
The ign switches contacts turn green and lose contact.
So if you suspect it jump across the switch. Then replace it.

Yeh it could be the points but a jumper wire will tell you real quick what is going on.

You stand a 99% chance that your points need cleaned or replaced. You also stand a 1% chance it is the coil because coils are almost bullet proof and almost never go bad. No spark at the points say they are not working as they should be. If the points are working as they should be you will ALWAYS get a spark there unless you do not have battery power to the coil that is, In simple words the points are the on off switch for spark and they have to open and close make and brake current to have spark. If they do not make contact and conduct power then you have no spark so as I said your POINTS ARE BAD
