Planting some late oat hay think they"ll grow?

did you get any good recent rain?

any seed will grow with water and love, but, without water, you are just playing with the tractor!

They'll grow, might just end up being a good stand of grass for whatever purpose, its getting close the time I would plant oats when providing forage for deer,in food plots. I have seen a crop come back, head out again, shorter stalks, not enough time to harvest, but it could have been baled or something, depends on rain and heat, has been mentioned here before its an annual grass that likes cooler temps, likes nitrogen etc.

Here is that crop, 2008, you can barely see the heads, I think, its nice regrowth. It was interesting to see this happen, enough rain, no weeds, almost an anomaly.

In the 2nd photo, you can see a nice 6pt buck, archery season, I lured him to the stand with a grunt call, was taken at 10 yards, oat grass, is a inexpensive forage that attracts lots of whitetail deer.

I saw some late planted ones a week ago. They were just starting to head out. Looked like the heads were coming right up out of the ground. No stem to speak of,not much more than ankle high.

You mean late in the day since the lights are on, or late in the year......

On a serious note, if you planted them here, not sure anything is going to grow with ground as hard as concrete from no rain.
