PlastiCoat Roll on Bed Liner

Has anyone rolled a bed liner in their pick up before? and if so do you think it was worth it? I have a factory plastic liner but it's rubbing through the paint so i thought maybe i'd roll one on. But does a rolled on liner protect against denting or no? Also has anyone in particularly know anything about the above mentioned company if its a good choice or not? Thanks for all help. Toby Oats

I used the plasticoat on an old truck of mine. It looked really good, but was no where near as thick an durable as the lineX or other pro sprays. I suppose you could coat it enough times that it is as thick as the pro jobs, but then you are in the pro job price range after buying that much stuff.

In my opinion it does not protect from dents! But I do believe it would seal up your bed pretty good if you intend to put your plastic liner back on top of it.

Okay thanks alot! That answers my main question. Did you apply the primer before the liner like it says or just roll it on the bed as is? right now it's telling me to sand the bed than prime, then sand the primer, then roll on the liner. How did you do it?

Sand any bare spots or loose paint, prime the bare spots. When the primer dries, sand it,and the rest of the bed lightly Wipe out the whole bed with wax and grease remover,(removes any wax, oil, grease, dirt, and primer dust so the liner will stick) wipe it dry as you go and then roll on the liner.Maybe keep a rag with wax and grease remover handy to wipe where you step.Start at the headboard and paint your way out.

One of the car shows on TV did a roll on job a while back. Theirs came in one gallon cans and rolled on with a little 4" roller. Looked good when they were done. Will it prevent dents? no, will it help reduce them? Sure. If I didn't want a spray on (me being sort of cheap) I wouldn't hesistate about the roll on.
