3 point quick hitch

What are the pros and cons of a 3 point quick hitch? Harbor Freight has one for $90 bucks-are they any good? Thanks

I've found mine works good on a live hydraulics tractor with implements that are designed for them.
There's a "specification" for that, I can't think of it right now. Someone will help us out.
On my Ford N series they're not as handy. Easier to just get off and hook up the equipment.
Handier yet, buy one tractor for each implement and just leave them hooked up! (ducking the frying pan now)

use a tapemeasure. i've got a couple (one from harbor freight). they only fit certain implements. mine now sits in the shed, unused, as i got tired of taking it on and off.
the one for my larger tractor only get put on when i used my 3shank ripper.

Quickhitches are handier than pockets on a shirt!!! They complement the machine whether on the three pth. a quich hitch for the loader or combine!! If the implement does not fit the hitch I modify it to fit!!! MY QUICKHITCHES DO NOT COME OFF!!!!! Armand

I've got the HF one and like it real well. But I ony use it on the 3PT hitch containers I have and to hang the bale fork on. Tried it the other day with the tedder and the PTO shaft rubbed... You'll be much happier with these...

Preacher gave me one. His shop man cobbled the top link connection plates so it always hits when I try to hook up. I can't get the lift portion to get close enough to hook up. Sounded good. BIL says they usually only work well on one impliment.

They are a tad flimsy, but for the price they are a good value if you get 20% off your price. Being flimsy, they are easy to take on & off if you have implements that don't work with a quick hitch.

Seems the bigger implements - cat 2 or 3 - tend to work well with quick hitches mostly.

A lot of the cat 1 implements were built quick & dirty, and the big top hook on a quick hitch doesn't fit - structure in the way.

Here is my experienc and comments contrary to what is posted below. Seems there are people that do like them. Over the years after they came out sold several (LandPride & others) Seems that sooner or later when we went back to the tractor the hitch would be sitting in the barn or not on the tractor. First and very important thing is it moves the implment 3 inches farther to the rear. On small tractor this fartor alone may cause problems then it CAN cause pto shaft problems if you are already close to max length that 3 inches will cause problems. Then next if you already have say a blad, cutter, post hole digger and who know what else, chanes are that some are not going to be the excat width and hence will cause modification to even use the quick hitch. Newer tractor have lift out hitch ends that seems to be better. IF I were going to do it I would probably go with the cheap HF and at least try it before investing major bucks.

$90 is the cheap part. Modifying all your 3 point implements to fit is what gets expensive.

I bought one and none of my implements would hook up. I modified my box blade and never found the time and money to modify the rest. The post hole digger never will.

I gave mine away to a buddy and it's still sitting in his shed, unused.

Are you guys having compatibility problems with Cat 1 implements only??
I have a JD quick hitch (cat 2) on my 730D and would be lost without it. My Glencoe digger, my chisel plow, and my Century sprayer are all 3 point mounted and fit the QH like a glove. Hooking any of them up takes no time at all, without leaving the seat. :D
