Kansas...........

On the job yesterday, I had occasion to drive US36 from Marysville, KS west to Belleville, then south to Concordia.

About 15 or 20 miles west of Marysville, I was meeting two semis with oversize loads and they hindered my view, plus I had to watch my driving, but to the left on the south side of the highway I swore I glimpsed a whole yard full of yellow Minneapolis Moline tractors. Maybe a couple dozen, at least. Does anyone know anything about these?

Then, just east of Washington, KS, also on the south side of the road, was a nicely restored John Deere R with a grain binder behind, sitting in a field of wheat stubble. An interesting view that brought back memories. Only my time with a grain binder was with a Fordson.

It was a pleasant and interesting drive, good smooth road, open country, etc. It was the kind of drive that makes the windshield time on my job fun.

I use to run to Marysville, KS for several years for my job. I have been told about this guy with the minni's several times. He will give you a tour from what I heard. I never did go over there. I do know that they have a Show in Washington and he is involved. From what I have heard he is a very large collector.

I'd like to see them turn a nice square corner with that R/binder setup. I know, it's just for show.

It'd be nice to see some of those yellow tractors show up at the Albert City show in August. Jim

It's the Stamm residence. He (and his family) is a major MM collector and they make some reproduction parts. A couple of years ago they sold off a bunch of their inventory (including a UDLX).
Not to worry. I think they have 1 or 2 left.

My wife and I used to go to that yearly event. It's been cancelled for several years now. Too many of their volunteers seem to have died off over the years, if you know what I mean. Most young kids aren't into the hobby or won't work for free.

Right along the Hwy 36/148, (Between Marysville and Washington), there were several hundred people on bicycles this morning pedaling down the highway. At 7:30 in the morning, they were drenched with sweat.
With Wunderground predicting highs at 108°, they better be under a shade tree this afternoon.

One thing I forgot to mention.
Stamm has a restored Minneapolis-Moline "Jeep" that is extremely rare. I forget the reason why the government bought it from MM, but I believe it was some sort of a vehicle used just to drive on airport tarmacs and to pull plane around. If you want to see exactly what they look like, just so an image search for "Minneapolis-Moline Jeep".
