Have not kept you up to date You remember it was a family decision that it was time for me to go in the nursing tobe with my wife who has been here for six years, It is wonderful being with her. We share the same rooo and the old love spark still ignites. There was the battles with management. Cold showers, bad bed and general poor care by aides.Th would answer you call lite and come and say "i will be back" and it would be a hour later. Well son finally got mad.(not good)to have happen. I beleive I mentioned the ;ady barber cheatng me ou of two buck. I had trouble with the pain medication and had teribble dreams and did not know where I was at. Was known to throw things across the room. Finaly
one of the head nurses siad "Grayon you really got something wrong" She alked to doc and son and snd off blood for tests and set up a appointment for me to go in for a Ultra-sound. I was so sore and stiff it was good my son is a big man to get me around. In a cople of days. Nurse."Son his taking you for an appointment with a Surgeon You got a Gall stone and infection. so that was scheduled. Know antiseptics and I do not get along and i takes several days for there effect to wear off and for the old stomack to straigten out. So the old bath room has been my best friend which makes a lot o work for aides. I hate this but that is what we pay for and I am thankful that I have not been at home trying to cope with all of this.
Sure I miss the farm and all of the going
on but there is all the work with out a old man in the road.

Now that everyone knoes wha we expect t have son it going well, Got my pain mangement under control. The monitor it closley and can adjust it with the doctor, They use a patch that sticks on my body started with a low dosage and and have increased it once,. The patch ha o be applied every other day by aa nurse an xhecked seveal times a day to mak sure it is attached. Hope this is readable as I STILL hsve trouble typing.

If there is one thing that I have learned on these forums, it is that farming makes tough men - unfortunately, I am just an old pencil pusher with gardening as my only real contact with the land.

Since I am pushing 70, I expect tougher roads ahead and can only hope that I have a small portion of the grit that you have obviously built up over the years.

I must say that I cant help but greatly appreciate your level of contentment in whatever circumstance you find yourself. I need to practice such things. Thanks for the example.

he got some of the grit by picking corn in the late fall, with the old oliver tractor! Gitrib, we all like to hear from you,you are an insipration to us all,we learn very much from you,Thank You

You have a awsome son. It's important to have a advacate that has some ba@$'s. You know as a father of a 7 and 5 yr old I'm worse than a old mamma bear DO NOT mess with my boy's. They have enough with type 1 diabetes. I just hope they will do what your boy is doing for you. Keep it coming I like to read your posts.

It is my prayer that the Lord will take me in the blink of an eye at the time He has appointed for me, but if not, I pray also that I can face and deal with the insidious theft of my health and independence with at least a small portion of the strength and grace demonstrated by Mr. Gitrib.

Best of everything to you and your wife. You deserve a lot of consideration for all your help to others on this forum and elsewhere. Dave

Gitrib. Thanks for the up date. I am glad your son is there when needed. The workers are there to take care of you. Make sure they don't slack off. I don't like cold showers either. Stan

Good to hear from you. Glad to hear your feeling better and hope Mrs. is doing well also. I've always told my parents, you have cared for me and gave me words of advise, and I feel that is the least I can do for them when they need my help during there older years or before. Take care. Gregg

we visit a friend of ours in nursing home every 2 weeks --she is 92 --spry and better mind than mine and she keeps the home going as to fun --and i bet you do the same --where do you live -if we ever get by i will stop and visit

Hi gitrib, glad you are doing better, the last time I and others heard from you was a day after your surgery, you were still under the "influence", IIRC...glad you do better, though. Still will stop by if and when I ever head your way, as I had promised in email!! Now if you ever end up road trippin', you do the same, alright?!!! Have a great weekend!
