Double Spark Plug Washers?

I have been told that if you use 2 washers on a spark plug instead of one it will run a little bit hotter. Anyone out there have any information pro or con on this?

makes no sense to me, if anything it would make it colder as the plug is being withdrawn from the combustion.
a hotter plug has a longer reach or a thinner electrode.

TSV.........yeah, the LONGER the heat path to the cooler cylinder head, the HOTTER the sparkie and will burn oily sparkies cleaner. More better you gitt the correct heat range sparkie. ........Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

The spark plug will get a bit hotter, not the engine. Helps if you are burning oil the plugs may not foul as fast. Used to do this when "INDEXING" plugs for racing, you wanted the center electrode unshielded by the side ground. Side electrode away from the valves.

Two washers or an excessively hot plug is a band ad cure treating the symptoms but not solving the problem.
Get the coolant temp up to 195F, lean the mixture out and use Shell T1 Rotella low ash 40 or 50wt in the crankcase.

If you pull the sparkplug wire away from the plug it will get more spark. Just rest the rubber boot on the end of the plug. This is temp, then you can find out the dirty plug, replace or clean it.

Spark plug heat range has more to do with the amount of the ceramic insulator nose surface exposed to combustion gasses. Hotter plugs will have a longer insulator nose, resulting in more heat absorbed from the combustion gases. In addition the heat must travel a greater distance thru the ceramic insulator to reach the cool metal spark plug shell.

Heat conduction of ceramic is very poor relative to steel, therefore I would not expect adding another metal gasket to be significant relative to the plugs operating temperature.
