The original subject was "3414 backhoe".
Here's some info for the carb. I bought a 3414 this summer and after refurbishing the gas tank, fuel pump and now at the carb, a British built Zenith VN. The loader runs fine on the flat, but rough on hills. Through the internet I found a fellow in Ohio, Randy Farmer, Farmers Service Inc, (330) 482-4180. He builds a carb from the casting on up, $420.00. He described my problem exactly, saying the carb float is a loose bulb riding in its housing. Works fine on the flat, but on a hill, not level, the bulb drags/rubs against the side of the housing, causing a rich mixture and rough running. Also, the plunger in my carb is seized, which is not good either.
I ordered a carb, but won't have it installed until I see the tractor again next summer. Give him a call.
