Why no 33 model 22-36 McCormic Deering tractors ??

Was serching serial numbers on Tractor data for 22-36 tractors this evening, to see what year model the one brother and I are messing with.
The listing I found showed serial numbers for 29-30-31-32-none-34.
why were none built in 33??
TIA

The 1932-34ish time was pretty slim for tractor sales, at least for Deere, and I'd think it'd the same for IH. No one had any money to spend to buy tractors, and inventory was getting high...and not being sold...so the factory cut back or stopped production.

I read during that time frame Russia imported large amounts of tractors from Deere, Oliver/Hart-Parr, & others. Some books say this kept these companies from going under during the depression.

I think the 34 models were made from leftover parts from previous years. In those lean times, they were't about to let anything go to waste.

I believe that poor weather caused many crop failures in those years, so no one had any money to buy tractors, therefore virtually none were made or sold by any manufacturer.

Thanks guys, that makes good sense. The depression plus a crop failure.
My parents told of those times. They were young and just starting out farming. One of those early to mid 30's seasons, they planted the crop in spring and got no rain until fall when the dry seeds finally emerged. Needless to say, that one was a total failure.

My book says the same thing, but the 150 yrs. of ihc book lists higher numbered 22-36s made in 1934. My 22-36 is one of those 34 models as the serial# is higher.
