Has anybody here have problems with the cats? Had what I belive was one digging around my machine shed early today. During daylight hours. It was mostly black with what seemed like white zig-zag lines on the sides as opposed to a skunk with them down the back. Not a lot of white on it. Do not like nocturnals animals when I see them during daylight hours. Brother says they are thinking about putting them on the endagered list since there are not many around.

where are you??? I googled them and it says africa, china, etc..... someone turn loose a made in china kitten in your area???

I've seen something like that here in germany a couple times 15 or so years ago and nobody would believe me.....

In South Dakota. I remember as a kid dad having one on the farm. Las I remember, was that mostly black but not much else. I also googled it and what I had looke nothing like what came up in the search.

Is that the one that you feed cheap coffee beans and then collect the worlds most expensive coffee beans on the other side?

Kopi Luwak?

My dad talked about them in western Washington when he was a kid, but I've never seen or heard of them around here from any other source.

Grandad had some get into the hen house several times and he trapped a few. Taht was in mid to laste forties.

I thought I read somewhere they are extinct. We used to have them when I was a kid. They were a little smaller and their spray didn't smell like a striped skunk. Jim

Civit cats that I saw as a kid in the 40s had a lot more and smaller white specks than dave2's pict. I also remember catching a solid black skunk in a trap and seeing a solid white skunk with pink nose and pink inside his ears. We had what they called broad stripe and narrow stripe skunks. One brought more money than the other, can't remember which.

the narrow striped ones were worth more because less dye had to be used on'em to make'em all black.
