o/t trail cameras

Just for refernce, I don't use video, so keep that in mind.

I have owned an older Moultrie, it failed in it's warranty period and they were honorable in getting me a replacement. I liked it for it's IR night shots.

I then bought a cheaper model from Primus?, and was sadly disapointed. Poor range, long recovery, ate batteries, but cheap.

I went back to Moultrie, a M100 I think, and is that a good IR camera for me. It is prettty good on batteries, takes outstanding IR photos, and is really small.

I leave my cameras up all year, so they see a lot of adverse minnesota weather.

Hope this helps, perhaps check out trailcamprodotcom.

I have a Bushnell and love it. Here is a picture from last year. Date on camera was wrong. Batteries last a very long time

I keep them hidden around my hunting cabin to catch Ner-do-wells. I have a variety. Smallest on is a wildview. It was cheap, $50 but so far seems to do well. I have it set to take a three shot burst. Infra red is OK out to about 30 feet.

Mine came from dick's, cheaper one but works good. Funny story-turned down a guy's request for hunting on my farm this year. Then saw his mug and date/time stamp pic on my trail cam during hunting season. Asked him if he forgot, he said no. I told him I begged differ, I knew the day, time and what he had on when he was at my place. It got real quiet.

regarding the IR cameras. When they are idle, is there a red light "on", to let you know there functioning? and when they flash, is it visible to humans? I would like to post some around my equipment, but don't know if a thief could detect it at night.

I did read about "black" (light?) cams, but they were $$$

thanks, snc

BTW, Dayrl, is this how one "finishes off" game (with corn :)

Have used Wildview, Moultrie, and now the Bushnell...bad results during winter...we will see how the Bushnell does. Batteries have been in the Bushnell for 4 months w/o replacement.
