The old warbirds help win a war.. the old tractors help feed a nation..

Millions live in freedom today for what the men and women of that generation did..

The story of "Old 666" has been on the Military Channel at least twice. There is a lot more to the story. Hope you get to see it sometime. The Japanese called it the "Ghost Ship". They had put several hundred rounds in it but it kept on flying. The ground crew said they had never seen a plane so shot up but could still fly. The 666 gunners did shoot several "zeros" down.

soder33, thanks for posting that video. Amazing story. I have a cousin that was married to the flight engineer on plane #7 of the Doolittle Raid. I never had the honor of meeting him, but before he died in 1998, he wrote his story of the Raid and the ordeals they endured following the Raid. One of the most interesting things I ever read.
 
Thanks for providing the link to 666. Jut proves how brave these members were. We must never forget our lost and often severely wounded troops and what they have done and continue to do for our country. God Bless them all.
 
Its because of guys like these that made this country so great, And it saddens me that the younger generation now has no idea of the sacrifices they made to keep us free. Bandit
 
some of those old warbirds are still flying, buffalo airlines in canada has a fleet of them in dailey service nice to see these old planes still doing what they did, now i got to figure out how to get up there and take a ride on one
