Yesterday's Tractors meet and greet... field day for fun

If I were to organize a field day for next summer and invit teh whole board to come out for some fun, tractors in tow, who all would come? We could schedule it around July 4th or a weekend close to that and harvest wheat, do some ploughing, baling, threshing, roast a couple dead animals on a fire, and enjoy the company...


Who is on board? Could we do this in Western PA, and have a nice turn-out? I'm all for having the whole bunch over for a good time. If we could bring our toys and play together, I could provide a big sand box to play in.

It's just a thought... I'd like to get a chance to meet some new friends and see some good tractor driving. I have plenty of parking, and camping sites, not to mention I am 30 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, PA. There is a lot going on that time of year and off site "non-farming" fun is abundant.

The Deere Hunter's two cylinder club did something similar yesterday. I think they had about 30 tractors. They met at farm and drove to local restaurant for breakfast. From there it was off to Mountain Springs camping resort (bout a mile drive). Then they drove along the Mountain Road 6 or 7 miles to Cabela's and displayed the tractors right in front of the building. That was pretty cool to see, wish i would of had my camera with me. They stayed at Cabela's about a hour n a half, then a 8 or so mile drive back to the farm for an afternoon picnic. They certainly had a gorgeous day as we were in the mid 80's all afternoon.
 
Sounds good to me. About 4 hours travel time for me. From Huntington WV. Is there a camp ground nearby.
 
I have been thinking about this for a while. I am also in Western PA.
If I am not working out in AZ next summer I would surely attend. If
you get enough replies and want help let me know. I would be more
then willing to help with anything I can. P.S. I also have a pretty
large picnic pavilion with some land around that we could use for
the place if need be.
 
Sounds like IL is teh place to have it!

I'd love to have something like this nearby. I'd be willing to host, but if the people aren't on board, then it would be more for us local guys. In that case, I would still do it, but not use endorsement from the board. Maybe a local thing. Fun times to have everyone come out. We have plenty of resources for those coming from a long distance, there are nice camp sites, or I could install temp electric for those that want to camp on site. Not a big deal.

Let's see how many people I can get to give a "maybe" and I will consider it.

I have 14 acres of wheat planted, plenty of ground for anyone who wants to bring out a combine, plow and tractor, tractor and baler, just a tractor to pull wagons, or anyone who just wants to have a look, we are all ready for fun.
