brake problem ford f 150

have just replaced rotary's and pads on front wheels.brake petal feels good until you start engine then petal goes down to much but will stop vehicle. has power brakes and is a 93 model F-150 Ford. Any suggestions, Help would be appreciated

Did you clean and lub the slides? Make shure caliper's will float. Also ck rear brakes. Make shure they are adjusted

Pull the rear drums off and see what the rear shoes look like.If all is ok,then set up the rear shoes 'til a slight drag is felt on each side.

Too much clearance between shoes and drums will cause a low pedal.

Have pulled back drums off checked, look good tightened up till wheel would not turn, then backed off till free.
is there a diaphram in power brake housing that could cause this problem

If you mean, you put your foot on the brake and then start it, and the pedal goes down? That is the way to check a power brake booster and it is working.

Half of master cylinder could be defective. Try a stop and look to see if all four wheels are skidding. Dave
