About a week ago I posted how I was not happy with my service experience with H & H Chevrolet in Omaha, Nebraska. More of the story, and how they offered to remedy it: My 1996 Chevrolet Z71 pickup was stolen in November of 2005. This makes me more 'concerned' then some, so bear with me. My drivers outside handle was cracked in 2005, so paid H & H to replace it, as it looked like it would be really easy to jimmy the handle loose and be in my truck. It cracked again, but within the last 3 weeks the inside handle had become less and less effective-to the point where I had to lower the window and use the outside handle to open the door. I had replaced the inside handle about 2 years ago, but the outside, to me anyway, was intimidating-it has the lock cylinder in it, and the power window would be in the way. Last Friday morning I asked the service writer to replace the outside handle-but I also mentioned that I was not happy with the life span of the last one-oh, and by the way, the inside handle is not working, so while you are in there, please see if there is a bent rod or something simple. I was running late for an appointment when they were done, so just paid the bill and left. WELL, the outside handle was still broke, but the inside handle had been replaced! On Tuesday I pled my case asking why I had not at least been told that the outside handle had not been replaced-I had to figure it out on my own. I told him that is the whole reason I brought it to the dealer-I would have replaced the inside handle myself! They finally agreed to replace the outside handle for the cost of the part, as the labor would have been very similar if they had done them together. Friday afternoon I had opportunity to take it back, and they did just as they promised.
