super a final drive bull gear

I'm putting near bearings and seals on the final drive of a Super A. The bull gear has some play on the shaft but when I flip it the play is gone. I haven't tried installing it reversed. Does anyone know if it is reversible? The inner bearing was so shot that the bull gear ripped through the oil pan.

thanks

I do not think it is, Use a straight edge across the gear and a depth gauge on a caliper to measure offset. If it is the same, and it ran long enough crooked, it might have wear patterns on it that would make it non-serviceable. Another idea is to have the gear turned larger on the Outer race bore and use a different bearing. Motion industries can help with specifications on a bearing OD. Jim

To my best knowledge, the bull gear is not reversible. The left and right bull gears, however, are identical so you may swap them. This effectively "reverses" the bull gears too, while the orientation of the offset is respected. I know, it is more work but replacing seals and bearings in the other final drive won't hurt ;-)
