Need help locating a good Dexta injection pump

I farm part-time and teach agriculture at a home for children as my day job. They have a donated Dexta that was in need of an overhaul. We overhauled the engine using a kit from YT and when we got it running we found injection pump problems. Local diesel injection shop said it had been run without oil in the pump and would be very expensive to machine the camshaft and rebuild the pump. I've done some Google searching and have not had much luck finding a rebuilt or used pump. I know that a replacement pump will not be cheap, but we were quoted 1300 dollars to rebuild the pump we have. I would love to find a good used one if anyone knows where one is available for sale, but we would definitely be interested in a reasonably priced rebuilt one.

Don't know much about Ford Diesels but I have an older portable air compressor that will never compress air again. The vanes are shot in the air end. It is powered with a Ford Diesel that predates the 172 cu in Diesel. If that makes it a Dexta engine, we can probably do business. I believe the pump is an inline four cylinder. Dagenheim seems to ring a bell but I could be wrong on that.

I can get numbers and pictures if you want them. The entire engine or just the pump is available. I think it may be a runner although I have never run it. eMail is open. I am in Eastern Massachusetts.

Thanks for the help, but I don't think it will work. Dextas used a motor that was a 144 cu in Perkins 3cyl with a Ford spec Simms pump.

Have you seen the cam yourself, or are you just taking their word for it? I think that I would get another opinion from a different shop. The Simms pumps used on Dextas didn't use oil to lubricate the cam, they used diesel that bypassed the plungers. That's why there's a drain pipe with a pigtail in it on the cam box. When the diesel level gets to the level of the pipe, the excess drains out. You will notice that there isn't any place to fill it with oil, unless you have a Super Dexta with a mechanical governor (Minimec), then you have to add oil to lubricate the governor.
