Didn't know I was replacing that today...

Today after I got out of work, it was raining on & off so instead of ging to the farm I went home to work on replacing the carpet in the nursery, as the previous home owners dog went in there a few times and consequently so did ours, except it was becoming more & more of a habit because they'd do it at night.

As I was carrying the old tack strips out the back door to my truck, my foot slipped on the wet wooden step on the deck and I went down like a ton of bricks. Not sure what part of me did it, but I broke one of the boards on the steps and I got 2 good scrapes on my back and one on the back of my thigh. Good thing I'm still young or I really woulda been hurting.....

I called dad to see if he had any extra deck boards, which he did from a wheel chair ramp he removed for someone else. He was coming my way any way so he loaded up the board and a couple tools and we fixed it quick and he was on his way. Still sore tonight, we'll see how I feel in the morning.

Sorry to hear that I know how you feel. At my age, falling is no joke.I was coming up my porch steps a couple of days ago and didn.t step high enough to clear the last step. I had been boiling water for batterys and had one of my wifes good pans in one hand and a camera in the other. I didn't let go of either so I wasn't able to catch myself and hit the rock and concrete porch floor pretty hard.Banged up an already bad knee.

So, all along I thought you were a MAN, not owned by a female, but I guess NOT, you poor sorry (guy)!

Observe a larger picture....
If you've no distilled water for your battery the use of hot water heater water carrying fewer minerals already collected to the inside of a hot water heating tank.
Some of those battery offending minerals will have stuck to the sides of the pan during heating, and will wash off doing it with the dishes.
Distilled water's best, but miles from a grocer's bottled distilled water, heated water's second best.
