I am looking to replace the rechargeable battery in my Astro LED shop light. The old one rapidly dying and was a little underpowered to begin with. Where would you suggest I get a top quality replacement?

Thank you,
Glenn F.

Try Allied Electronics, Newark, several electronics supply sources online.

Not a lot of information there unless something is not visible in the photos. May have to match it up by the voltage and size. Go with the highest amp hour rating you can find.

I did a little research. Battery is an 18650. I want as high of amp hours as I can get (I assume).

BTW if you don't like that one try to get a cell with leads or tabs already connected. It is difficult to solder directly to the cell without destroying it. They are very sensitive to heat. Normally tabs are spot welded to the ends, as they are steel and spot welding doesn't generate a lot of heat.

Glenn F,

Yep! 18650 cell. get one that was rated for those electric cigarettes. Usually are high capacity and high amperes draw rate,

Guido.

Glenn F,

Take the wrap off. It may be marked with the part #.
Not all are marked.

LGABC419650 CELL is 2750 mah cell,

Guido.

This looks like it. If the plug isn't a match at least it has wires and is a high capacity cell.
