How much horsepower can you get out of a 3208 cat with a 2.75 inlet charger Apump and 2800 rpms? Those are the rough rules for a local open speed class

Also how much hp can you get out of a 478 herc? rules call for 2800rpm max across the bored and turbocharger with a 2.330" inducer bore restriction within 2" of the face of the intake wheel. and can either run the stock appearing pump or upgrade the a P7100.

I have heard tractors in these classes are getting 1000+hp

2 different clubs just don't know what way to go. Both clubs have to run stock block so the 8.3 cummins is not an option

Hello 2150 welcome to YT. You are in the right place
and technically you were in the right place before
because you were posting about a ..Tractor.. Some
guys have been on here a long time and have just
came to expect a certain ..order.. to things. I am not a
tractor puller, one thing I do know about many that are
they do not like to share their secrets. One thing I do
know about 3208s is they do not stand up well when
being pushed outside of their design parameters. Best
of luck!

Hey thanks for the reply! I ain't real good with the internet so I take that stuff with a grain of salt. I have seen a few 3208s make some impressive hp I am just worried with these restrictions in either club I won't be able to get enough air for to make it with my while. My family has been die hard oliver so I will refuse to build anything else (so I don't get disowned) and as for the herc I have never seen anyone using them to pull and I figure it had to be something along those lines as well

First you can get more air in 8 ports than
6. It's all about air flow. More Cubic in
always better. Especially when you are RPM
limited. So I would think about stroking
it. The best thing I ever did was to find
a good head guy. Jim Harrison Albion Il.
He holds NHRA Records. He can make a Chevy
head flow 100 percent more and use the
original gasket. Looks like 475 was most
hp Cat made a 3208. It ain't all in how
much boost you got.

i think what u are hearing is b.s. they are a 275 h. p. engine such as in the new holland combines. i think you are dreaming. these engines
are good as for what they were designed to do. what u want to do forget it.

Antiques are getting 500 hp from a 466 IHC. Block bored and stroked to 800plus cu. NA. So I think close to 1000 is probable.
