Looking at building a ac wd45 stroker motor read on her i could offset grind my crank to farmall c rod size which is 1.750 then what pistons do i need looking at maybe going to 4.250 pistons n what sleeves would i need to get also i know ill need to have the block bored to go that bi thanx

A long time ago I put used 4020 JD sleeves
in a late Allis block. Think they are
4.250. I had them bored to .060 over 460
Ford smog pistons. Finished turning the
recess in them to resemble a Allis piston.
Then had the crank stroked to 5 3/4. With
a 1600 Mazda big end. Think was 2 like a
Honda. Used Ford small end. Then figured
out how far piston needed to come up to
make 10 to 1 compression ratio. Should
have made it higher. Then welded the two
rods together. Maybe 15 to 1. Worried
about rods a lot but rods still good.
Don't worry about the bottom of the
sleeves sealing. You or your machinist can
bore the block tight enough that sealant
will hold it. I just let them rust in. I
also made dowel pins to line up the ports
of the manifold. Do all your head work on
the intake.valves. BBC Chevy ex valves
work for intake valves. If I was building
a new allis 4 cylinder I would at least
bore to 4 5/8 and stroke to 6 1/4. Oh and
balanced and weighed everything. Also
don't time it any faster than stock. If go
with a 6 crank slow timing about 4
degrees. Maybe 3. Hope this helps.

I will be building a WD45 but it will be in my spare time so the time frame will be stretched out but I'll share what I am doing with you. PM me and we can stay in communication with this.
