NATPA tractor pulling is dying!

So they say anyway. Just got back from the pull in Lebanon. WOW! 504 hooks on Fri. and 505 on Sat. Had to be the biggest NATPA pull yet.

I think moving it off the New Year's weekend like in the past also helped.

Good job of filming. Thanks. There was even a couple of WC's on 28's But sure seemed to be a lot of 2 cylinders JD's there LOL. Thanks again.

Sounds like a lot of hooks for a pull. That's for sure. I know this photo probably don't do any justice for the spectatorship present (probably a poor shot for that), but don't appear to be one person in the stands (of what you can see in this one pic). Just the legs of one person sitting in a lawn chair down on the track.

In my area, the lack of spectatorship kind of killed out the antique tractor pulls. The pullers would still show up. But the audience wouldn't. Without any gate money from the stands, nobody wanted to put one on anymore. Kind of an all for nothing effort when the entry fees themself is paid back out to the winners circle, and there really is no gate money to turn any kind of a profit out of it for the event.

So, ... people have just said, heck, why not just do something else? Do something that people will actually come out for.
One local town has a truck and tractor pull. But no antique classes in it at all.
