does any one have a red diamond in a puller

was one of those ever in a production tractor or a piece of equipment or just a truck engine?

Their predecessor was in a W40. McCormick
Deering. From the outside looks the same.
There is a few really mean W40's. Kinda
got started with USAP rules. Stating any
motor was accepted that had the same
number of.cylinders same fuel, same
manufacturer as the original engine and
will bolt in. That's not the exact wording
just my take on it.

But the real killer engine is a 460. 560 IHC with a 466 diesel engine converted to gas and bored and stroked to 800 plus inches. That's what it takes to compete with a 1000cu. Moline. And a 1000 plus JD. G.

I once owned (1) W-40 McCormick and (4) WK-40 McCormick tractors and still have one WK-40...They had the FBB 298 cubic inch truck engine which was a little before the Red Diamonds..I also had (4) WA-40 McCormick tractors and still have one of them..They had a 279 cubic inch engine..The 279 and 298 look very similar to the bigger RD engines....I have a RD 372 cubic inch motor sitting in the shed.

A 1000 ci G IS not much threat to the other big inch brands, - for sure not on a regular basis. Every dog has it's day, but hard to beat speed and 6 cylinders.

I think it is more about the rpms that they can turn compared to a JD. We get 1800 if lucky and some of them are turning north of 4500. At that point we are just class fillers with a G.

I know, at some of the more popular fun pulls around the country, I see the 4500 rpms and just shake my head. Your's runs well, Mel, very consistent and fun to watch.

Hanging close those these days. Seems colder out now than it did 20 years ago. LOL
