Super 55 Mystery Screw Purpose???

My Oliver Super 55 (s/n 23 490-518) has what appears to be a 3/8 dia. slot-head set screw in the crankcase just below the engine oil filter mount. (see photo) Does anyone know the purpose of this screw??

Might just be a plug in the oil gallery after the block drilling/tapping process is done. If so it's another port to add an oil pressure gauge. See if there's any more straight forward/rearward in line with each other is the easiest way to find oil gallery port plugs.

take the screw out crank the engine over , if oil shoots out then u found what is for.
