Runs great and then dies. Thought gas line was plugged. Started at Sediment Bowl Assembly. Found stuff gunk and cleaned. Problem though - the seal for the shut off valve failed. So I bought a new Sediment Bowl Assembly.
Tractor the same, runs great and then quits like it's starving for gas. Pulled a part carb and all looks good. Still, brothe wanted proof so I installed a elbow fitting and clear plastic hose to show fuel level in carb bowl. It does that - about as it should be at idle, lower at 1000 rpms and then barely slushing at the opening of the nipple. This probably right as the elbow is right under the main jet - so gas being sucked from plastic line.
Tried mowing, 50 yards to field and mowed 35 yards and tractor died. As soon as it started dying I looked the gas in the plastic line. It was trying to fill up and did instantly when tractor died.
Testing.
Started and idled at 800 rpms for 5 minutes.
Went to 1000 rpms and ran for 3 minutes.
Went to 1500 rpms and ran for 3 minutes.
Took it to 1800 rpms and ran just over 30 seconds.
Again at 1800 rpms and ran just over 30 seconds.
Engine stopped - showing fuel level in carb bowl.
