Ford jubilee with step up tranny won't go into gear.

I bought a non-running Jubilee fixed to get her running. Started it upi drove it back and forth maybe 200 feet. Then I notice a lever down byy my left foot. I knew what is was so I can't remember if I pulled on the lever or pushed it but jumped up in speed.

Tractor had very poor traction due to a driveway full of ice. Tried to shift the lever again and it would not engage, acted like it was stuck. I could move the normal 4 peed lever between gears but tractor would not move at all when the clutch was disengaged. NOw I'm stranded.

Do I need to remove the top plate and realign something internally? This is my first exposure with a step-up tranny.

Any help here would be much appreciated.

On the Jubilee it could be either one of 3. Step up or step down or combo. If combo put it in neutral and then pull out side ways and if it pops out around a half inch then pull up and you have the gear it had with out the Sherman. The combo has down up and standard gears as in it is 3 speed

Reminds me of the non running Ford 850 I brought home with the 5 speed transmission.
Shifting that is entertaining.
Top, Middle, Bottom and side to side.
What's that? Millennial proof?
