MF65 Clutch release lever height

AZGRWR

New User
'63 MF65 - one owner.
got a 'new' clutch from Yesterday's tractors in box labeled 'Made in China' and 'Made in India' is in the metal cast components.
Looks all good, but wanted to measure the height of the release levers. Don't have the special MF tool for this purpose, but can figure out a way to measure the distance. I need to know that measurement. Can someone provide this measurement.
Many thanks.

Good evening AZGRWR..
I'm NOT able to give you a definitive answer to your question.

With the above said,my original MF service manual indicates, the settings for the DUAL CLUTCH for MF's 35-50-65 & MF TO-Tractors all use the same tools as per the manual indicates.

When I installed a NEW CLUTCH ASSEMBLY,I asked if the MF 135 GAUGE TOOL is correct for my 1963 MF 35,Dual Clutch.
A trained MF Technician with several decades of hands on with MF Tractors commented the 135 GAUGE TOOL was correct for my MF 35.

The clutch assembl operates 100% in my MF 35.

Bob - many thanks for providing the nice photos and your comments.
I have the original book, slightly different than yours, which shows the same images and instructions. I'm lucky in that the image of the 'special tools' did not print. Go figure!
Regardless, the measurements of the release lever 'gauge clearly shows all understandable measurement except the one I need! Do you know what 999.010 means or am I reading that wrong??

It appears to be .990 over 1.010, which I would interpret as the depth of the opening in the gauge needs to be within that .020" range.

Yep, that makes sense. Just odd with the arrow in the middle of it. Thanks a bunch.

This picture is a bit clearer.

That picture is certainly much better in showing the decimal point before the first 9 is missing. I'm going with one inch and hopefully when this clutch assembly was put together, they set it correctly.

Thanks again. James in Arizona
