My 1969 135 MF 3 cylinder gas has a distributor that has over 1/8 inch of end play and the advance weight assembly has started rubbing around the inside bottom of the housing. No wander it would only idle.

Has anyone had this happen to them, or maybe knows a good carburetor and Ignition man that can sell me the bushings for the housing. I will purchase a used unit too.

Delco Remy # 1112 457 9H3

MF # 521189M91 I think this is the correct MF number.

This is a 3 cylinder Perkins gasoline engine so it doesn't have to be from a 135 tractor, it just needs to be 3 cylinder perkins gas.

This site's store (and YT's parent company, All States Ag Parts) show rebuild ones. ASAP notes if out of stock they might need your core to rebuild for you. You could call them; they might have the parts you need for sale, but not shown on line.

I'm sure bushings can be found. They likely will have to be reamed after they are pressed in. It might be worth a call to Pertonix to see how much a new distributor is, I don't know how worn out yours is. I probably should have done this with mine...

Thanks for your reply Mr. Jim;

I disassembled my distributor and drove the upper bushing up toward the points end about 1/4 of an inch. It worked. I will have to keep an eye on it to see if it moves.

I remember my son driving it last year without having the hold down bolt tight and the distributor spun around pulling the wire loose going to the points. That makes sense after thinking about the right angle drive gears and the pressure that was on it when I got it to turn while removing it. Anyway time will tell for sure. Got the starter on and set timing to 27 degrees before TDC. Runs good and strong now.

Thanks for always helping when asked;

I am wrong....the upper bushing was driven up about an 1/8 of an inch instead of the 1/4 inch I posted. I left a small amount of end play for expansion.

I think everyone for the help.
