Tractor questions

Hello,
For those that service and use or have used a 720/730 as well as new generation tractors, which is easier to work on yourself when repairs come up?

Next, did the 720/730 gas tractors have the same flywheel getting loose issues as the diesel models?

Hello dt welcome to YT! Is there something driving this
question? Tell us the rest, we do not charge by the
word? Are you going to do actual farm work with this
tractor? If so a new generation tractor like a 3020 is
light years ahead of a 2 lunger. Even if comparably, the
3020 is a bit harder to work on the handiness and
versatility of the 3020 far out weighs the difference.
That is my opinion given by an IH guy who has been
around a few Deeres.

1st question...Depends on what broke and what you are
servicing. If you pick a new generation Id go 20 series. Might
as well not deal with the oil bath air cleaner. If its time for a
clutch you will want a 2 cylinder. If its time for a head gasket
you will want a 2 cylinder. If ease of use and maintenance is
what you want I think Id avoid anything with pony start but it
kinda sounds like you are thinking gas anyway. Buy one of
each cant take it with you!
2nd question...I wasnt around when they were being worked
on for real day to day so weather a gas is better someone
else might be able to say for certain but its something to
inspect and watch on all two cylinders. Both ends of the crank
can have issues just have to periodically inspect and make
sure everything stays tight.

It was a much bigger issue with the diesels. Can still happen with the gas ones, but it was not extreme. It's been said the diesel issues
were partly related to stopping the engine, as that big heavy flywheel coming to a sudden stop put a lot of stress on things. Many advised
stopping the diesel with the decompression lever, so as to allow it to stop. Gas engines with a lot lower compression, had less of these
strains.

I would take any 2 cylinder models over the NEW Generation tractors, Was a Deere guy but when needed someting bigger than the A went to Ford
