That planter is pretty old.I'd be surprised if any 'new' parts are still available. You can get seed plates from Lincoln Ag Products. Evergreen,Colorado.

249 is one version and 250 the other, one is drill and other is either hill drop or check row. Basicly same as the 449 or 450 4 row planters that the Amish seem to prefer. So if in Amish area parts might be easier to get. Over the years I have helped them aquire several of the 4 row versions. Last model made with clutch lift and can be set for 30 inch rows. Deeres 490 was clutch lift but could only be set down to 36 rows. So that was why they did not want Deere.

Looks like its a 249 IH row markers were missing , I have the seed bins and I bought new fertilizer bins for it 20 yrs ago but have no clue were to get parts now , where can I find part specs for this planter , thanks for any help

Check with mark , hes got a lot of things for planters , excellent knowledge and a gentleman.

The steel plates are for that planter, the still items to the left are hopper bottom parts, Probably saved from see boxes that went bad. The plastic plates are for John Deere but tyey will sit some other models of planters. On the plastic plates color tells the size of seed cell and look like they are 24 cell plates, will fit anything from the old horse drawn to some of the 7000 planters. Looks like the plates for that planter are for round seed and will not work with a flat kernel. If I knew where my books are I could tell you from the numbers on the plates exactly what size seed would work with each plate.

I think youre missing fertilizer units ? Or you might have them somewhere ?

Going to garage to get the photo of seed plate charts photo from my C221 operator manual might be the same as the plates on left .look like them .

Thanks for seed plate chart I was looking at the medal plates and I see 1977 A small,1975 A xtra small,1978 A medium,
1979 A large, two sets of thin medal ones that need spacers that are 3002 A small, and a 1796 A large and one set of plastic ones that were in seed cans c7-16x that are cracked.

I cannot remember where I got the reprint for my 1901 IH 2 row planter with "automatic marker arms"! It's been over 20 years since I rebuilt that planter and planted for about 10 years with my teams. If I run across it or remember, I'll post it here.
