None of them if you want to keep the front end under them or be able to steer it. The Cub will be broke in to on it. The fords will not be able to steer them with it. I'd find a newer and bigger tractor for loader work with power steering. You will not be happy with that set up on an N series ford. Besides you need to put in a front mount pump to run it.

yep, i have an 8n with a heavier loader on it and it's like wrestling a grizzly. i do have a ford 960 i am also thinking about.... i stopped by a guys house that had a 9n with a loader, it used the 3 point lever to control the loader, pipe coming from underneath the tractor and one going in to the tractor on the top in front of the seat, it has a control that will bypass the 3 point and works the loader, is this some sort of a home made setup? also i can't find the correct manual for this loader. thanks for your responce

Dad had a Freeman on an 8N and used that hydraulic set up. You had to chain the lift arms down to have pressure to that pipe after
you remove the plug. I'm sure anybody on the 8N forum could tell you all about it.

The loader run by the 3point control is a 'homebuilt'. But was fairly common in the day' I have seen several. Not nearly as good as a crankshaft driven pump. But better than nothing.

We had a Ferguson loader modified to fit a 44 2N like that is made for and never had the problems that Caterpillar guy is complaining about. But he doesn't like Fords either. You say you have an 8N would mount with no problems. But instead of using a chain to hold lift arms down that does'n work decent we had a set of clamps made thw fit around the axle and used a bolt to connect to the lift arbs and it kept the arms at the spot you always had imideat hydrolic action instead ao delayed as with chains you had to wait for the chains to tighten up before the loader would start working. Easy to make those clamps.

That loader is designed for Ford tractors. Will not fit a Cub. As said the Cub will break in half.If you want a loader on your Cub,find a loader made for a Cub. Hard to find but they are out there. With a
torch and welder, that loader could be put on just anything.

8N makes a poor loader tractor. IMHO,about the worst. A hog on ice that you cant steer when the bucket is full( and ever when empty). But a lot of xNs have loaders. Dont get me wrong. I love those little N tractors. Just dont want a loader on one.

Absolutely the live front is best.No contest.Useing the three point pump/control is slow, you have to clutch and put in neutral..plus the threepoint will be unuseable when you are useing the loader. You can do one or the other, but not both.

Needs a front pump for hydraulics. Don't try using the tractor hydraulics!

I grew up with a loader on an 9N and later 1948 8N. Started when I was 9 years old. Yes hard to steer when sitting still. But smooth car tires on front help and weight out back from a scoop or implement. Also drove it with a hay loader attachment (Dearborn) to the front of the loader picking up 5 little square bales hauling to the stack (9N in road gear,at 12 or 13 years old). We used both for many years. Broke center axle on the 9N and maybe spindles on both. Was the best we could afford and worked for my Grand father, father and me. I still have the 8N. Sold the 9N with loader. I was a whopping 100 pounder at 13.
