Well fellows Here is the up date on the issue:
key switch wire on incorrect terminal //BUT also faulty switch; >>causing burnt wire.
Replaced wire to Regulator; did cut and then shut off >>only to discover that the primary coil on the starter solenoid burnt off.
so had to jump the heavy connections to restart. Got the grass all cut before discovering the burnt out coil; though; hopefully last cut before winter. If not will just jump heavy connections on solenoid for now and replace in spring.
