John Deere 325 with Kowasaki 17 horse engine. New battery, starter and solenoid, New ignition module with switch. All this installed first start up works great. used tractor for about an hour. Shut it off. Tried to start it 4 hours later and it blows the 15 amp fuse. The starter solenoid pulls in and the fuse blows. Done this with to new ignition switches. I'm at my wits end. Any help would keep me from going nuts..Thanks a bunch.

I tried to get a reading on the current draw by connecting the meter to the fuse holder but for some reason I didn't get a reading. I put a 20 amp fuse in place of the 15 and that seemed to solve the problem so far. I'm thinking the return spring in the solenoid is a little stiff. Anyway, your response is really appreciated. Thank you very much.

Just a thought, check the clearance on the valves, maybe too loose, and you are not bleeding off compression then you try to start it hot. Cheap and easy to check.
