Cub Cadet i1042 issues

We have a Kubota BX2200 which won't start. All checks out fine, however no power to the starter. Neutral start is in place, pto not in gear, everything checks out but no start. Think the starter died. Kubota wants 350 dollars for a new starter.
Have been using the i1042. Has a timed deck, so don't want to use it that much.
Was mowing with it today. The drive belt came off along with the guides. Thought no big deal, will just put it back on. Was getting towards sundown so didn't reinstall it.
Anyhow, it was about to shake me half to death bringing it back to the storage area. Was shaking so bad the ignition key fell out.
This has me worried. Checked the oil, still full. Has less than 12 hours on a oil change.
What I am wondering is why the belt guide came off. Plus the bad shaking. DOUG

Check for power on the trigger wire (small wire on the starter solenoid) when key is in crank position. As the tractors age, the safety switches tend to not have proper connection and will cause the starter
to not energize. Mine would occasionally click, but not energize the starter, so I cut the energize wire, and inserted a relay to cure the problem rather than bypassing the safety switches. Tractor has 1600
and some odd hours on it now and has had the relay since about 900 hours with no more start problems.

We have the Kubota BX2200 up and running.
The PTO lever must not have been disengaging all the way.
Got ticked off, kept changing between front, middle, and rear PTO. Also yanked hard on the PTO lever. Now it works!
Big issue now is the i1042. At least the Kubota is back. DOUG

Drive belt? The belt to the transmission? Check for a gumball or something in a pulley. Also, make sure the belt goes around all the
pulleys, and all of them are still round. Sometimes one of the idler pulleys locks up and the belt cuts one side off it.

T.R.K. It is the primary drive belt which goes around the pulley under the engine.
The deck has an electronic start. All the wires are broken, looks like a hard pull on them.
Think it's beyond my skill set NOT knowing where they are supposed to go. If I knew would fix it myself. DOUG
