This twenty horse Onan has been trouble for years. It's always run rich and it has surging fits some times. Some body's been in the carb before me so I ordered a new carb. and set of gaskits, Pulled the intake manifold out and found a vac. leak in that. Kind of a job to split the manifold and clean out the old sealer.

Then I adjusted the valves, now I got to wait a couple days for my parts to come.

That two piece intake manifold with sealant (silicone?) between the halves was NOT a good idea!

THERE'S LOTS OF things on Onan engines that are STUPID. The plastic finger wheel that presses onto the cast iron cam gear hub to spin the ball bearings out, and OH HEY, let's put the ignition points & condensor INSIDE the crankcase, the B48G in my 982 Cub Cadet has points & condensor on top front surface of block.Son's buying the parts to put a Kohler COMMAND in it.
