the plastic choke lever broke on my XT-1 with a 24 h.p. 7000 series kohler engine. the new cable is identical. i photographed, measured, & marked marked the outer cable location in the clamp & the length of the exposed inner cable & installed it. before when the lever was full forward the choke was engaged. pulled back an inch was full throttle & moved full rearward it idled down. now full forward is choked but it will no longer throttle down. i've tried various adjustments to no avail. i'm a fairly experienced mechanic. not so much on new autos but i'm familiar with old vehicles, tractors, & small engines. this has me stumped. i was going to take it to my local shop but he's booked up for 2 months. i'm in arnold mo & just learned 2 of our oldest dealers, erb equipment & millbradt both shuttered their doors. next closest shop is farm & home in high ridge. i've watched every you tube video on the subject & i did what everyone else did. anyone have any ideas.
