Haben sickle mower value

i have run across a like new if not new haben mower that fits a jacobson 401a chief. Not familiar with this model or the allis counterpart but it is a neat piece, all
the mounting brackets appear to be there along with the instruction and mounting manual as well as parts breakdown.
What would be a fair price to pay for this and what model allis will it work on? thanks for any info on this.

The Haban is a 401a, right?

401A is for the small simplicity garden tractors.
Simplicity has built AC lawn and garden tractors.
I would suspect that it will or can be used on AC's of a certain era.

I'll never understand why people ask for a fair price on something then don't post a picture. If you are asking so you can low ball it and sell for a profit, I can't help you. If it for your own personal use, whatever your willing to pay. I bought this mower for my Ford 20+ years ago for $625. was told by many people (not on here) that I paid too much. I didn't care because it was exactly what I wanted.

Thanks for your input on this and i agree if im happy and the seller is happy it works out.In this instance the neighbor lost her husband after a 6 yr battle with pancreatic cancer. She has asked me to help liquidate her things, i know about tractors and some mowers, but not all of the implements. This is why i have asked, to gain some knowledge by asking people who are more in tune with these particular things, i have no need for said mower.
That being said when i got a text at work she wanted me to stop by i didnt know what she needed so was unprepared to take pics and honestly i have never posted pics on here so am unsure how to.
The pic you posted is a finish mower and not a sickle mower, i guess you know the difference but posted a pic of yours for reference to what you paid for it, thanks again for your input on this matter.

Yes, I know what a sickle bar mower is. Actually, I posted the picture to demonstrate that; what might be fair to someone is too much to much for everyone else. Without the picture it's almost impossible for someone to have an opinion.

I sold one for a Cub Cadet for 400 bucks about 10 years ago. It was in excellent condition and even had the coveted blade guard.

Ones built to be on a CC or JD would likely be bring more money.
Since they probably out number all others ten to one.

If the O.P. is wanting to sell it, find out what it was built for.
Then find a forum or group on line for that brand tractor and list it for sale there first.

(quoted from post at 04:00:56 01/04/23) I sold one for a Cub Cadet for 400 bucks about 10 years ago. It was in excellent condition and even had the coveted blade guard.

I sold one for a Sears about 10 yrs ago for $400 as well. A guy drove here to New York from Michigan to pick it up.

I have a Haban sickle mower that I bought in 1971 with my New Ford 100 lawn tractor. I found out it was for a Jacobsen Chief when I opened the crate to assemble it. For years, I would compare replacement parts prices for my tractor-mower at Ford and Jake dealers.
It was years later that I found out that Jacobsen also built MM and White lawn tractors. I have each.
