Honda engine is on power washer. Always start on first pull. Started and died now no fire. Replaced coil still no fire. Check both new and old with omh meter. Both checked good. No oil sensor on engine. What do I look for? Is there anything under flywheel? Sanded magnet on side flywheel. Thanks for your help.

Does it have an on/off switch on the cowling? Common cause of no spark. It grounds the coil to kill and fails in that position.

I am pretty sure the on/off switch plugs onto the coil. Pull that plug off the coil and test for spark again.

Does a screwdriver or wrench snap to the magnet on the flywheel pretty quickly? It should.

Also, what gap did you set the coil at? I am thinking it should be .010 or .012. Use a feeler gauge. A business card is at least .004 thicker, maybe even more than that.

Also, The other mechanic 'fixed' a larger Honda a year or so ago that the customer had installed the coil upside down. The trigger does not work if it is flipped over.

Ohm meter reading only says if the coil itself is shorted. They don't tell whether the trigger circuit is working.
